After just two weeks, the CIA has decided to drop its efforts to monitor data captured by TikTok. The program that started earlier this month was developed to gather information on radical right-wing extremists. However, after a botched assassin takedown, leaders at the CIA determined that their analysts could not accurately interpret conservative language. “It’s like they’re speaking Dutch,” said CIA Director Bill Burns. He also pointed out that there wasn’t much data to gather since conservatives weren’t generally the type of people to subscribe to TikTok. Burns concluded, “rather than continue this fruitless endeavor, the task of conservative entrapment will now be assigned to the 87,000 new IRS agents that have been funded by the Inflation Reduction Act.”
