With the plethora of college football games this weekend, sports statisticians spewed out hundreds of worthless “statistics” and Aflac trivia questions. Professional fact checkers were overwhelmed attempting to validate the statements spouted by television commentators.
One of the facts included: “83.4% of the time this team, is down by three points seven minutes into the third quarter against in conference teams, they lose by more than 43 points.” Another interesting fact was: “Every game that the mascot does an odd number of summersaults in the first four minutes of the second quarter TV break, the team wins.” And one of the more interesting and truly worthless facts was : “Teams with two or more brothers have won 51.65% of their games”
Of most meaningless Aflac trivia questions, three stood out among the rest: “When was the last time a team, who was leading by 17 touchdowns lost the game?” “What is the highest time-out to fumble ratio between these two teams?” “And speaking of turnovers, how many apple turnovers does the offensive line consume for breakfast on game days?”
