Sloped Roofs Too Dangerous for Secret Service snipers

In Tuesday’s press conference, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle stated that sloped roofs are too dangerous for secret service snipers. She also told reporters that she recently implemented safety directives addressing this concern. Secret Service Snipers are prohibited from taking up positions on roofs with a pitch greater than 2 degrees. Additionally, properly attached fall arresting gear is required whenever stationed on structures taller than 1 foot. The fall arresting gear rule applies to all personnel, not only snipers.

Cheatle was also quick to Praise President Bidens recent requirements for heat safety in the workplace. “Not only are sloped roofs too dangerous, our teammates in the field have to deal with a number of other threats. That is why I love that our President, Joe Biden, is pushing for heat safety for all. His new initiatives will bring much needed relief to heat stressed teammates in the field. I have already requested funding for canopy tents, paba free sunscreen, and portable electric AC units. The primary objective of the Secret Service is to provide round the clock comfort to every one of our field teammates.
