The San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee made a proposal to the city’s Board of Directors this week. The proposal included a $5M payout to each black resident of the city, $1 homes, and cancellation of existing debt and taxes. The proposal was met with enthusiasm by the board, but some felt it didn’t go far enough. One of the board members suggested amending the proposal to include white housekeepers and landscapers.
Prominent board member Huffy N. Arrogant expressed her support. “Since we all understand that slavery and racism are totally separate issues, I see no problem with black San Franciscans being further supported by oppressive whites. Let’s make sure that any reparations include true meaning.”
