barbecuing in a rain poncho

Damascus Dispatch field correspondent and investigative reporter, Tim Tinker’s Fathers day ended tragically after he insisted on grilling in the rain. As a lifelong Father’s day tradition, Tim insisted on grilling, even though it was pouring down rain. In order to stay dry, Tim donned a plastic rain poncho shortly before lighting the grill. Unfortunately, the amount of lighter fluid required to start the charcoal in the rain was rather excessive. The fireball that ensued after lighting the grill was so big that it caught the plastic poncho on fire immediately. On admission to the hospital Tim admitted, “barbecuing in a rain poncho probably wasn’t my best idea.”

Fortunately, Tim wasn’t critically injured, and suffered only second degree burns over on his now hairless forearms. Damascus Dispatch reminds all those fathers out there to avoid barbecuing in a rain poncho. Order takeout if it’s raining instead.
