Assault and Battery

Comedian Chris Rock took to the stage in his Netflix special Selective Outrage Saturday night. In his long-awaited return to the stage, Rock finally addressed the slap he took from Will Smith at last year’s Oscars. While Rock didn’t claim assault and battery, he did poke fun at people asking him if it hurt, “It still Does!” he said. He later railed on the Smiths for their awkward marital arrangement and how Jada was emasculating Will.

Apparently, the jokes went too far for Jada who tweeted t “My Husband is not emasculated!”

She immediately followed up with another: “@Will, I demand you immediately press assault and battery charges against @ChrisRock for assaulting you on live TV. He needs to understand that words are literally physically hurtful, and he literally cannot take them back now that the show was recorded.

In a subsequent tweet, she further dissed Rock: “@ChrisRock, who do you think you are, LibsOfTikTOk? You can’t repost someone else’s content, then innocently claim that you’re just educating the public.” The “repost” was a reference to her Red Table Talk interview, where she interviewed her own husband about an affair she had with her son’s best friend.

She ended the rant with a final tweet: “@ChrisRock, I don’t know if @Will is strong enough to ever recover from the hurt you’ve caused. I hope you rot in jail for the rest of your life for the insufferable damage your words have caused. You WILL be served #AssaultAndBattery”
