Sunday, the DOJ made a preemptive move having President Joe Biden declared incompetent to face any charges related to bribery, corruption, embezzlement, sexual harassment, child exploitation, or any other activity he may be impeached for. Attorney General Merrick Garland agreed that the House of Representatives may have authority to impeach the President for several reasons. However, he concluded, “the Senate has no authority to try him based on his current state of mental incompetence.”
Assistant Secretary of Health, Rachel Lavine, was quick to weigh in on the situation. He stated, “Although the president hasn’t the mental capacity to stand trial, it doesn’t disqualify him from running the country. Having President Biden declared incompetent is no cause for alarm. His advisors are perfectly capable of guiding him in making sound decisions.”
