Buttigieg shows how EVs threaten infrastructure

The collapse of an aging parking garage in New York has shed new light on the Green revolution. Namely that Electric cars are significantly heavier than their gasoline counterparts. While this bodes well for EV occupants in the event of a crash, the looming impact on aging infrastructure doesn’t look good. The Secretary of TRANSportation, Pete Buttigieg, however, is ecstatic that EVs threaten infrastructure. This will finally provide an opportunity for him to appear to be proactive, rather than his complacent, inattentive, reactive self.

On Thursday, Buttigieg announced with glee that highways and roads must all be rebuilt to accommodate the massive weight of electric vehicles. “Within the next few days, weeks, months, whatever, I’ll be introducing policies requiring the complete overhaul of our highways, roads, and tunnels. This work will be necessary to accommodate the excessive weight of EV’s coming with the Green revolution. As we rebuild, we’ll be sure that minority highway contractors get preferential bid opportunities. We’ll also be sure to that the lgbTq+n highway workers are doubly compensated for their service to the country.”

Peter Doocy of fox news asked, “If EVs threaten infrastructure, shouldn’t bridges also be included in the infrastructure overhaul?” Buttigieg replied, “Good call Peter, I hadn’t thought about that. We’ll see what we can do to work that in.”
